My Space

My View of sign of identity

In China, i stay with my parents and my brother, we live in a house with a nice garden, and our

neighbor is my aunt with her family. My mother is my aunt's sister, so when they design those

houses, they chose same style of western style.  My mother indulging collect vintage items, so you

can see many retro items in my house, such as the sofa, tea table, also the whole house is full with

western style, my mother even bought many retro audio and telephone in the house. So in my saw,

the western style is my mother's sigh of her identity.  My brother like music, so he build a studio in

basement, my father like wine, so he collect many wine in cellar, those all are their sign of they

identity. But i don't have many interest things or habits, i like the white and black, so i prefer design

my room with white, totally white, and i love the terse style of everything, so my bedroom, my goods

in my house all of the terse style. Maybe these are my signs, once my brother sigh for my new sofa

with white color, he don't need to ask, just surely knew that was mine. So sometime the owner signs

will become one's identity.

With my friends house, my friend Emily Shen like cartoon figure, so she bought many cartoon

stickers and stick those on the wall, bathroom, table, full of her house. Anther friend  Andy Liu, he

likes metal style, so he bought many metallic table wares, metal ornament, even he bought the

metallic framework in his house, every time i heard some voice with metal smashing into metal i

knew he is coming. Those all are the signs of one's identity, sometimes we can depend on those sighs

to distinguish their habbies.

Reality TV in Society

Reality TV in Society

Recently there are many realities TV shows appear on television, at start I never pay attention on it, but with the discussion among friends I watched some realities TV shows. I don’t think the realities TV is good us, at less is not good for me.

At the first reason of the reality TV that not good for children. The influence of television on children today is increasingly, children not only through the television to understand this society, more like direct imitation of TV characters. Imitation is the nature of children; show the actual for children provides the most direct imitation model. In the children's understanding of the world and the ability to judge a society is still in the embryonic stage, value system, their consumption concept, evaluation system is decided by the whole social cultural atmosphere, of course, depends largely on their exposure to TV programs. Such as that reality TV named “Rich kids of Beverly Hills”, in fact, I think the show is very Ignorant, for me, I never liked being on the living environment or shooting. Many teenagers watch this program will more to imitate, to pursue the same level of life, inevitably there will be crime factors, the impact is not good, similar to flaunt wealth.

Now there are also many violent erotic reality shows on TV, such as that “Teen Mom”, we first regardless of truth in the reality shows, just these shows included many violence and salacity. Watch TV violence increases children's aggressive tendency, this tendency to stimulate their interest in the television violence, in turn, further increases the attack behavior. Because the audience violence aesthetic once excited, acceptance, demand will continue to strengthen, tolerance enhancement. Social ethics if not given the proper restraint, like a patient who had drug resistance is serious, and then the final result will be regarded as hopeless, past hope.

I am not against reality show this type of program, I just want reality TV is show for the audience more active, but not by sex violence flaunt wealth way to attract the attention of the audience but ignores the influence caused by the program.

Television Makes Us Smarter

Television Makes Us Smarter

Television around us everywhere, we can watch the television at home, at restaurant, in the subway, and also we can watch in the malls, there have much kind of television shows, such as entertainment shows, quiz shoes, reality shows and television series. Since childhood we touch it every day. And I think television can makes us smarter.

We both know that baby needs early prenatal education in the person who is pregnant, the pregnant women is suitable for listening music and reading some articles, also need “watch television”, television makes some voice like a story can though the mother pass to baby’s brain, then can make baby start to touch it, that is consciousness of enlightenment, can help the baby who after born easy to connect this new world.

In my experience there are many knowledge I learn it from television. Maybe it was a careless glance, the television caught my attention, and then I would have interest on it and study something from it. Sometimes are some small life skills, sometimes are the histories for the world, and sometimes is the scientific knowledge propagation. Most of the time the accumulation of knowledge is so careless a bit, television can let me learn a lot of things that not talked about it in class. In recently, I prefer watch the detective investigation type of television shows, such as CSI and Criminal Minds. I’m so glad there have many sessions!! I can enjoy it for long time; every time I watched it maybe I can’t remember all the skills and knowledge, but I try my best to understand and remember those skills which I have interest on it. The change of the body after death, when the body will be hardening, when the body will have a spot, and different direction of blood of the attacks. Its sounds crazy but I really have interesting. Maybe those skills can’t use in the real life, but I can know some famous cases and the culture of this country.
Absolutely, television can make us smarter and give us a nice choice for pass the leisure time.

Media Habits

Media Habits

“Maintaining control over one’s media habits is more of a challenge today than it has ever been” from “Television Addiction Is No Mere Metaphor”. In my daily life I have many misgiving about my media habits, such as online activities and video game playing. Every day I used to check my social networking, look at my friends Facebook or Weibo (seems Facebook in China), I know it’s not necessary to do it, but it’s just a habit. Anther media habit is video game playing; this is a bad habit for me I swear, because I always for video game spend a lot of time, and sometimes forget the clock to go sleep. All the things I know I should control my time to cost on it, but it’s not work, before sleep and after wake up the first thing must be check my social networking, seemingly ordinary social networking has inevitably become a part of my life. Those are the media habits.

Even though sometimes I would like to control those habits, it’s always not work, such as I try to leave my social networking just one day, but just one-hour, I felt uneasiness and no interest to do other things. I think the media habits are become the obsession for me, compel me to use it, even then no worth but I still spend time on it, if I really want to control it, maybe the only way can to it is throw me into the mountains which is no signal networks. This is the bad of media habits, but meantime this is the power of media habits.

24 hours without technology

In my experience I seldom leave technology more than 3 hours, except in bed. Every day in the morning the first thing after I open eyes is find my cellphone, and every night before go sleep the last thing must be put my cellphone away. Until one day I go travel with my family went to Tibet, there is a poor place, we didn’t find any hotel and we just can stay in motel, actually there was no socket for my charger, and my cellphone was low power. In Second day, at the start I felt unease, because I always wanted check my cellphone, if there had unread messages and missed call. But by then I gradually attracted by the scenery around, the next time I forgot my cellphone, just chatted with my family and enjoy the view. I found out a thing that is people who are not together they will miss each other and send massages, but when they are stay together they have no more chat still play cellphone or others. My friend have a café, named first sight, she didn’t install any Wifi. She said, if people come to my café there have two reasons, one for business, another one for meet, we always use many technologies to contact friends, thus ignore the people who around us, so I wont to set up Wifi, I just want to people who come to my café can chat with the man who stay with you. After that I discover the cellphone is not important for me, I would like know the people who around me.

Network Communication in Our Society

Network communications are the main part of our life. According to Experian Marketing Services, Americans are so fixated on social networks that they spend an average of 16 minutes out of every hour on them. Many people also use online shopping, online video call and online businesses. With the development of a variety of network communication businesses, such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, many people are willing to choose to use the networks instead of the old way of communication. Obviously, network communication is important in our society. Computer networks are inherently social networks, linking people, organizations, and knowledge. They are social institutions that should not be studied in isolation but as integrated into everyday lives. In “Computer Networks as Social Networks” Barry Wellman says the proliferation of computer networks has facilitated a de-emphasis on group solidarity at work and in the community and afforded a turn to networked societies that are loosely bounded and sparsely knit. So the social network’s communication advantages outweigh the disadvantages.
But the distinction is, some people think that the network is not reliable. For example, many teenagers prefer online shopping because it is convenient and saves money, but there is Internet fraud. Sometimes, a person can leak the information or trust someone’s frauds. It will bring unpredictable consequences, lose some money, And the disadvantages of the online date and online chat or video have the same hidden danger that can leak important information. The networks always have a lot of phishing websites. The phishing websites means fraud websites, but use and false things to entice visitors. Then, they put a virus into people’s computers and steal information. Some teenagers are addicted to online games. Those young men who abandon themselves to the net games are likely to do some silly things.
I think the social network’s advantages outweigh the disadvantages. Although there are many computer viruses that try to steal the information, and we have antivirus software, when faced with some seemingly unsafe websites links, we should protect our private information. Do not in any website station fill in us true data. Take care and don't give a person the important information who we never meet and have a long time conversation. Guard against various Internet frauds, most people easy to see benefit leave, which would gradually small homes largest seizure of sesame lost watermelon.
For some people, especially teenagers, they would rather speak on the network. In the network, they felt freer and have better communication. They have greater scope to befriend strangers. Over the past decade, technology has become increasingly important in the lives of adolescents. “As a group, adolescents are heavy users of newer electronic communication forms, such as instant messaging, e-mail, and text messaging, as well as communication-oriented Internet sites such as blogs, social networking, and sites for sharing photos and videos. In "Online and Offline Social Networks: Use of Social Networking Sites by Emerging Adults," Kaveri Subrahmanyam and Patricia Greenfield examine adolescents' relationships with friends, romantic partners, strangers, and their families in the context of their online communication activities. So we need to trust the network to give us to the benefit more than the disadvantages.
I prefer to use social networks because I can find anything on them. I want to chat with friends at any time I want, and I can know their new things from the network. I can also share my things which are interesting on the network, such as Facebook and Instagram. They can make me have more fun and communication and comprehension, Social networks solve a problem with distance. I can make an online video call for the business or someone who is far away from me. For example, right now I am living in the US. But I can take the video call with my family, and I can use Weibo to find out what happened with my friends. Although I’m not living in China, I still can know what happened every day, and I always like to search the meal online. Sometime, I miss my country’s dishes, I will search how to make them online, and go to Chinatown to buy the ingredients. That is really a good thing. That is the magic of the social network. And around my friends, most of them prefer to decorated themselves on social networks. This article explores teenagers' practices of social networking in order to uncover the subtle connections between online opportunityes and risks. In "Taking Risky Opportunities in Youthful Content Creation: Teenagers' Use of Social Networking Sites for Intimacy, Privacy and Self-expression." Livingstone, Sonia says while younger teenagers relish the opportunities to recreate continuously a highly-decorated, stylistically-elaborate identity, older teenagers favor a plain aesthetic that foregrounds their links to others, thus expressing a notion of identity lived through authentic relationships. I can search the resources on the network and if I have some problems, I can ask the questions online. There are always some nice people to answer my questions. Social networks really have many tricks, but more it is for communication and help.
A lot of people disagree with the social network communication because they did not get real contact network and they will not touch the social network. Right now the people who even though grew up with you, but in the future they would still have lie and deception. So we just need to use objective thinking to look at social networks, because the social networks are grown up day by day, in the future we will need the social networks.
